Lasers

Here is the recipe for Lasers. You can craft White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, or Magenta Lasers. Just swap out the Lens in the recipe for the color of your choosing.

Laser Housing

To actually use the Laser, it must be placed on a Laser Housing machine. You have to Shift right-click to place the Laser, because right-clicking will open the Laser Housing UI. Lasers can only be placed on Laser Housings, and if the Laser Housing is mined, the Laser pops off.

Crafting Recipe:

  • 1 Circuit Tier 3
  • 6 Tin Plates
  • 2 Energy Wire

Place Laser Housings next to each other and they will act as one big Tile Entity. Right-click any Laser Housing to open the UI and adjust the Laser settings. Currently, there is no limit to the number of Laser Housings you can connect together.

Once in the GUI, you can set the laser distance, doing so will also change the energy requirements. By default, the Energy required to fire the laser follows this formula:

Required Energy = (number_of_lasers * 5000) + (number_of_lasers * laser_distance * 100)

Once the Laser Housings have enough energy, the laser will fire when any Laser Housing recieves a redstone signal.

Any blocks the lasers hit will drop as though it was mined by a player. The laser will stop if it hits Bedrock. Any entities caught in the laser beam will get set on fire. The damage dealt by a laser beam is based on world difficulty.

  • Optimized Lasers:
    • Laser beams no longer use TileEntities, so there should be much less lag in general.
