Moon Base
- So are you ready to go to space? Do you have all of your space equipment equipped? Is there Oxygen in your Oxygen Tanks?
Do you have a Parachute? Do you have all the supplies you need to build a base on another planet? Do you have a
Galacticraft Wrench with you? Do you have extra containers of Fuel? Do you have Food? If you're sure you have everything
you need, then enter your Rocket and press Spacebar to blast off! Don't touch the movement controls and your rocket should
fly straight up into the air.
- Once you leave the atmosphere the Celestial Body selection screen pops up. Zoom in on Earth
(which is the third planet from the sun in case you didn't know) and select the Moon.
The Launch button in the top-right corner should be green, so go ahead and click it to Launch to the Moon.
- You enter the Moon inside a Landing Craft. Hold down the spacebar to slow down your descent to the surface! You don't want
crash! The first thing we recommend you do is get out some of your Wood and craft a Crafting Table,
then a Double Chest to store all your stuff in. Get all your stuff out of the Landing Craft including your Tier 1 Rocket and
Launch Pad and store it all in the Double Chest. You can destroy your lander now, since it'll just be in the way.
- Now it's very possible that it's night time now, or at least will be soon enough. You should now place most if not all of your
Glowstone Torches to cover as big an area as you possibly can. You may find yourself against some space mobs so be prepared.
Don't take too long setting down Glowstone Torches either, becuase you're running out of Oxygen.
- Now that you have a pretty wide area covered with light, monsters shouldn't bother you. Find a good area you want the base to
be. We're not going to be building the base just yet. Grab your Launch Pad, Fuel Loader, some Aluminum Wire and a Solar Panel.
Move a little away from the area you want your base at, and setup the Launch Pad. Place the Fuel Loader down, and connect it
to a Solar Panel. You can also place a chest nearby to put your Rocket and extra Fuel containers.
Now at least we have a way back in case of an emergency.
- Okay. Grab all your machines because we're going to use most of them, as well has your Aluminum Wire, Fluid Pipe, and all
your Leaves.
- Go to the area where you want your base at and place down the Oxygen Bubble Distributer. As the name suggests, this will
provide a bubble of Oxygen around the device, but we still need to connect it.
- Now move about 10 blocks away. Dig a 5x5 hole 2 blocks deep and fill it with Leaves. Place the Oxygen Collecter in the
center of the Leaves.
- Connect Fluid Pipe between the two machines. Use the Galacticraft Wrench to set the pipe closest to the Oxygen Collector
to extract mode.
- Now use Aluminum Wire to connect both machines. Connect the Aluminum Wire to your Energy Storage Cluster, then on the
other side of the Energy Storage Cluster, connect your solar panels.
- Now your machines should be working. If it does happen to be night time on the moon, you'll have to connect your
Coal Generator next to the solar panels so power goes through the Energy Storage Cluster. If your machines still aren't working,
use the Galacticraft Wrench on the Energy Storage Cluster to rotate it and make sure you don't have it backwards.
- The Oxygen Collector only needs to be surrounded by 5x5x5 Leaves to provide plenty of Oxygen to support the Oxygen Bubble
Distributor. Go back over to the Leaves and place down 2 more layers of leaves.
- The Oxygen Bubble Distributor should be working now. Place down the Oxygen Compressor somewhere and connect the Fluid Pipe
and Aluminum Wire to it. Use the Oxygen Compressor to refill your Oxygen Tanks with Oxygen, but do one tank at a time.
- You should have everything you need to survive now. You can go ahead and place down Stone Bricks to construct a building.
We also recommend you move your solar panels to the roof, once you have a roof. Don't forget to light up your roof with Glowstone
torches as well!
You can return to the Overworld if you want, but we're actually hoping to do a few more things here before we go.
