Create a Map Wall

If you're using a map mod such as MapWriter or JourneyMap that displays a mini-map in the corner of your HUD, then you can skip this step.

For those of you that don't have a map mod loaded, you can create a map wall. Press F3 to make sure you're facing in the north direction, then construct a wall made out of 9 Jack O' Lanterns. Place the Item Frames on the Jack O' Lanterns.

Create a map at your base, open it, then upgrade it once. Place this map in the center Item frame. For any additional Map, you only need to leave the boundary of this center map, and then make the new map, open it, and upgrade it once.
