Make an Enchantment Table

Continue mining until you get at least 5 Diamonds.

Use 3 Diamond to craft a Diamond Pickaxe.

Mine at least 4 Obsidian blocks.

Make an Enchantment Table out of a Book, 2 Diamonds, and 4 Obsidian to get an Achievement. An Enchantment Table will Enchant your tools and armor with magical effects.

Enchanted Pickaxes, Axes, and Shovels will help you mine faster. Enchanted Swords and Bows will have extra attack power. Enchanted Armor will have more protection. Enchant a Fishing Rod to have a greater chance of finding good things.

Using an Enchantment Table requires Levels of Experience and Lapis Lazuli. Keep the Lapis in a chest next to the Enchantment Table.
