This special mining block generates Ore blocks for you. First, the Laser Drill must be placed over a hole that goes all the way down to Bedrock or the Void. Then you must place Laser Drill Prechargers 1 space away from the Laser Drill to power it. When set up properly the Laser Drill will start to place Ores in a Chest placed on top of it. It takes a lot of energy to generate Ores, even with all 4 Prechargers connected.

There are special lenses you can craft and place in the Laser Drill that influence the chance of getting a particular ore, depending on the color of the lens. And more lenses of the same type will make it more likely to get that particular Ore.

The Laser Drill cannot be powered with energy wire directly. These Laser Drill Prechargers must be placed 1 space away from the Laser Drill and rotated towards the Laser Drill. And it's the Prechargers that must be connected to an energy wire. The Laser Drill can have a maximum of 4 Laser Drill Prechargers attached to it.
