Used as a crafting ingredient for the Quartz Grindstone.

Quartz Grindstone

From the Applied Energistics mod. Used to turn Certus Quartz, Nether Quartz, and other various minerals into their Dust equivalents. By default, there is a 90% chance that grinding Ores will produce 2 Dusts, but this can be changed in the Config file. The Grindstone will convert Gold Ore and Iron Ore to their Dust equivalents which can then be smelted into Ingots, but if you find that the Grindstone doesn't accept Ores from other mods, you may have to add their OreDictionary name to the Config file. You cannot use the Quartz Grindstone without a Wooden Crank.

Wooden Crank

Place the Wooden Crank on top of the Quartz Grindstone, and Right-click it to Rotate it. About 4 rotations is required to process 1 item, or you could Hold the Right Mouse button, but you run the risk of destroying your Crank.

Bread

You can use the Quartz Grindstone or similar machine to grind Wheat into Flour, and then smelt the Flour into Bread. Producing Bread this way is more efficient than the Vanilla method of crafting 1 Bread from 3 Wheat.
